At New York Comic-Con on October 9, Wizards revealed Marvel: Darkhold Destiny, the next Universes Beyond expansion and the first built around an original Marvel story created with Magic’s narrative team. Its dimension-hopping plot spans nearly 30 dimensions and centers on Doctor Strange, Thor, Hela, and Dormammu, with Scarlet Witch, Moon Knight, Blade, and others in the magical cast. A new Marvel comic will introduce a brand-new character in February 2027, ahead of the set’s April 9, 2027 release. That makes Darkhold Destiny more than another recognizable roster poured into card frames: Wizards and Marvel are attempting a story designed for Magic first, which is either a genuine evolution for Universes Beyond or an impressively elaborate way to make us wait for spoilers.
