A Wargamer report published October 28 says Wizards of the Coast has brought back Fisher Phillips, a firm United Wizards of the Coast calls a “union avoidance firm,” as D&D and Magic workers prepare for a secret-ballot vote on November 10. Wizards declined to recognize the union voluntarily, and an employee email reportedly said the company was “not neutral” on unionization and preferred working directly with staff. The election notice also lists roughly two dozen senior roles whose ballots may be challenged, including principal game designers and art directors. Fisher Phillips represented Wizards during negotiations with MTG Arena workers, who joined the CWA earlier this year.
